I am Parker DeVenney and I enjoy making things and being creative. I have always enjoyed making art and developing skills that allow me to pursue creative endeavors. I am a 2024 graduate of Bradley University's Game Design program. I have a minor in Creative Writing. My current professional experience is in customer service and information technology.
I am passionate about games and all interactive media, especially if that media tells a story that the user can engage with. Escapism is incredibly important to me and providing entertainment and escapism for others is my calling. I am a writer first and foremost and a designer and technician second. I am proficient in C# and dabble in several other programming languages and I am actively pursuing my CompTIA A+ certification as well as my ISTQB Foundation Level Software Testing certification.
My current position is a tier 1 tech support specialist at Central IT in Muscatine, IA. Sharpening my hard technical skills during the workday and dabbling in personal projects at night are how I keep myself busy outside of my many loves and hobbies. Video games are my first love, and I am actively trying to expand my horizons by playing things I have never played. Comic books, graphic novels, and other books take up all the shelves in my home. I play Magic: the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons with my friends and family every week and have done so for the past decade.
I live in Rock Island, IL with my wife and a roommate. We have two beautiful cats named Detective Penelope Bugjuice and Princess Amelia “Mia” Mignonette Thermopolis Renaldi. We have an elderly Chihuahua named Shrek. We love animals and volunteer at animal shelters on occasion.
